The Sync Project Joins the Open Music Initiative

As the use of music expands to new exciting areas - like therapeutics for health - we need sustainable business models for artists, rights holders and new businesses alike. With the Open Music Initiative we’re building a foundation for new, fair uses of music.

The Sync Project is excited to be a founding working group member of the Open Music Initiative together with BerkleeICE and the MIT Media Lab. We’re joined by over 50 media and technology industry entities including Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, BMG, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, and Soundcloud.

The mission of the Open Music Initiative is to promote and advance the development of open source standards and innovation related to music, to help assure proper compensation for all creators, performers and rights holders of music.
